Halloween cookies are a treat for the children as well as the adults. The spooky looking cookies are actually delicious. Looks are deceiving. The cookies taste heaven. Run your imagination wild and bake some really spooky yet mouth watering yummy cookies. There is no dearth of Halloween Cookies ideas when you search the Internet. However, here are a couple of simple and easy to make cookies for those who have little or no time. These can be made in a jiffy.
Two Simply Delicious Halloween Cookies
- Black Cat Cookies
- Unsalted butter softened – 2 sticks
- Cocoa powder – 1/2 cup
- Espresso powder – 1 tsp
- Sugar – 3/4 cup
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Egg yolks – 2
- Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
- All-purpose flour – 2 cups
- White chocolate melted – 1/4 cup
In a small pan, over low heat, melt 3 tbsp. of butter and stir in cocoa powder. Stir continuously till they are well combined. Allow them to cool.
In a mixing bowl, beat together, the remaining butter, sugar, salt, espresso powder and the cooled cocoa sauce. Mix well using a whisk for a minute or 2. Add the yolks and vanilla extract and beat well.
Add the flour in three batches. Ensure that each batch is mixed well before adding the next. Mix well until you get a loose and soft dough.
Divide the dough into 2 halves and place each portion between 2 sets of parchment paper and refrigerate for an hour to make the dough firm.
Roll out each halve between parchment paper just over 1/8″ thickness.
Peel the top parchment and using a cat-shaped cookie cutter stamp out the cat cookies.
Transfer these to the baking tray spaced 1″ apart and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Transfer it to the wire rack to cool before decorating with white chocolate.
Preheat the oven to 375-degree F.
2. Oreo Spooky Spin
- Semi-sweet chocolate, chopped – 1/4 pound
- white chocolate chopped – 1/4 pound
- Double stuffed Oreo cookies – 18 pieces
Prepare the baking tray and set aside
In a microwave safe bowl, melt 4 tbsp. chocolates.
Now dip each Oreo in the chocolate till they are fully covered and place them on a wire rack.
Melt the remaining white chocolate and place them in the piping bag.
Pipe three circles on the chocolate dipped biscuits. Using a toothpick, make the shape of the cobweb.
Transfer it to the refrigerator to set.
