Breakfast in a mason jar is for those who do not have much time to prepare breakfast in the morning. This concept allows you to prepare the breakfast overnight and refrigerate it to be eaten the next day. Here are a few easy to make breakfast in a mason jar that you should try out and share your experience with us.
Bacon And Eggs In A Mason Jar
- Eggs – 2
- Fresh Spinach – 3 tbsp.
- Shredded cheese – 2 tbsp.
- Bacon – finely chopped, 3 tbsp.
- Salt and pepper as per taste
In a bowl, beat the eggs, salt, pepper and the chopped spinach
Pour this mixture into a microwave compatible mason jar
Cook for a couple of minutes, checking now and then.
The mixture will puff up during cooking. That’s nothing to worry about. You can deflate it once you take the jar out of the microwave.
Top with some cheese (optional) and bacon crumbles.
Make-Ahead Fruit & Yogurt Breakfast
- Greek yogurt – 60 ounce
- Uncooked oats – 1/3 cup
- Chia seeds – 1 tsp
- Milk (cow, soy, almond) – 2 tbsp.
- Frozen fruits and berries – 1 cup
In a mixing bowl combine milk, yogurt, oats and chia seeds.
Pour half the mixture into a mason jar/container
Then layer it with fruits and berries.
Pour the remaining yogurt mixture to make the third layer.
Add the remaining fruit/berries as the final layer.
This breakfast can be refrigerated up to three days.
Granola and fruits in a mason Jar
Ingredients to make Granola
- Rolled oats – 3 cups
- Flax meal – 1/4 cup
- Nuts and seeds – 2 cups, roughly chopped
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
- Honey – 1/2 cup
- Cinnamon – 2 tsp
- Vanilla – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, all the ingredients. Spread granola evenly on a large parchment lined baking dish.
Bake for30-40 minutes, stirring once in15 minutes. The granola has to be golden brown. If not cook for another 10 more minutes. Cool the mixture and store in an airtight container.
Assembling the Breakfast Mason Jar
- Fruits of your choice – 4 cups, chopped into bite- size
- Honey – 1/4 cup
- Prepared granola
The first add the yogurt, then honey, fruit and then granola. Repeat the same for one more layer.
